Saturday September 15, 2007 The Vancouver Island Model Engineers Held The Grand Opening Of Their Track Extension.  The Festivities Began At 10:00 Hrs With Town Crier Al Witcombe Hailing “Hear Yea, Hear Yea” & Ringing A Bell As He Crossed Memorial Bridge In Traditional Attire.  He Then Read A Proclamation Describing The Opening Of The New Track Extension.  Announcements Followed There After With The First Train Breaking Through The Ribbon.  A Train Parade Followed With All The Locomotives On Hand. The Weather Was Overcast But Mild With No Rain.  This Allowed All Those Present From Vancouver Island, The B.C. Main Land, Washington & Oregon To Have A Great Time Together.  And There Was No Lack Of The Locals In Attendance To Ride The New Line! There Is Only One Word That Truly Describes The VIME Track & That Is “Incredible”!  The Club Has Pulled Together Great Planning & Skills To Create A Truly Incredible Track.  British Columbia Now Has Two Premiere Tracks, VIME & IBLS 2000 Host BCSME.  I am Extremely Pleased To Have Attended The Meet & Ran Trains On This Incredible New Track!  If You Are In The Area, Make Plans To Visit The VIME Track………..You Won’t Regret It!
